In forming this group, the members wanted to place its emphasis on ministry, letting everyone know that Jesus is "A Better Way". A Better Way has opened for and/or played with Gospel artists such as, John P. Kee, Donny McClurkin, Mary Mary, Hezekiah Walker, The Winans, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Candi Staton, Edwin Hawkins and The Williams Brothers, as well as Jazz artists such as: Dave Valentin, Alex Bugnon, Najee, Chuck Loeb, Marion Meadows, and Pieces of a Dream to name a few. The group has played such venues as: The New Haven Coliseum, The Rich Forum, The Palace Theater, Toads Place and the Webster Theater in CT., The Jacob Javits Center, The Beacon Theater and The Texaco Corporation in, NY., The Hu Ke Lau Dinner Theater in MA., The Arthur Ashe Tennis Center in Richmond, VA, and have shared the bill with luminaries such as the Honorable David Dinkins, and Motivational speaker Les Brown. A Better Way has played colleges such as: State University at Brockport, NY, Southern Conn. State University, University of Massachusetts at Lowell, and Norwalk Community College, and have performed concerts and festivals up and down the East Coast. |
