Salty the Pocketknife takes progressive/ new-thing rock to the next level. You simply have to get a drummer of the caliber of Evan Stone in order to maneuver through very crisp and effective grooves and odd time changes; changes which certainly make their music original and absolutely left of center. Apply the masterful technique and oddity of Scott Ireland on guitar and what you will find are melodic ear bending harmonies and lush chordal interplay that provides a strong basis for the Salty sound. Combine that with the searing vocals of Rosebud, who has been favorably compared with Fiona Apple, Chrissie Hynde and others, and you will be on the edge of your seat eagerly awaiting her next boisterous rant. Hear Rosebud just once and you will undoubtledly recognize her unique voice the very next time you hear it anywhere. Finally, add Dustin Diamond , "Screech" from TV's "Saved By The Bell", on bass guitar, and you will get the complete, rounded and earth rumbling sound which makes up Salty the Pocketknife. Dustin's bass playing interweaves with the complex twists and turns in the music which makes for a solid, driving and unified sound.
