The artist known as Silicon Monk has created a major debut album that people who love hip-hop, dance, ambient and all the other genres can appreciate, but how often the disc makes it back into the CD player depends on how you fat you can react to the grooving tunes and whiplash style. The music and artist are absolutely amazing. You're given such a diverse group of styles, yet the music blends together to make this one of the best music you will ever hear. It's well worth paying full price for this CD. Rest assured, you will not be disappointed with this music. This album has to be the easiest one in the world to review. The words and music impress as being well-built and divergent yet they featured a commonality that was strikingly different than a lot of music heard on a regular basis. Highly recommended!

Silicon Monk serves up an interesting ala carte menu here, which somehow manages to capture and combine all the elements of urban hip-hop with the purity of mainstream easy listening into a multi-flavored, over-the-top hybrid of pulsating world rythyms beneath a captivating and entrancing assortment of vocal effects that sometimes come very close to defying adequate description. The resulting metamorphosis opens up a channel that engulfs the listener easily and effortlessly, as the music itself progresses boldly into unchartered territory while maintaining the essence of it's original ingredients along the way. Return to the Earth is a well-produced and uncluttered effort and demonstrates a musical prowess that suggests a re-definition of what the term "new-age" has come to signify.
